Lunch Matters and the Co-OP

Join us for a delicious home cooked meal and great company!

Twice a month, on a Wednesday (2nd & 4th weeks), we have a lunch club. Starting at 11.30am for coffee, we gather in the St Peter's Room at church. Around 12.15pm we have a home cooked meal and dessert. No need to book, just turn up and get to know some new friends.

Come along for a delicious home cooked meal and great company.

Suggested donation £5

All members of the local community are welcome to Lunch Matters. The welcoming environment provides a space for people to get together, to make new friendships and renew old ones. Support is offered from guests as well as by those who are there as hosts.

Food Partnership with Co-op

Co-op Food parcels.jpg

We are really excited how this is growing. We usually collect food 6 nights a week from all three Co-op stores (Woodhatch, Trehaven & South Park). This is food which is reaching its best before date and would otherwise become food waste without this partnership.

From those collections we:

➢ Deliver to Woodhatch community Fridge three times a week

➢ Deliver to Wayside (home for homeless young women) one night a week

➢ The other two collections are delivered to St.Lukes and used to provide food to those identified as in need.

The Community Fridge is based in the Woodhatch community centre. Anyone can access this fridge for free or can make a donation. This ensures that food waste is reduced and food is available for those in need.

All those who receive food in any way are very grateful. Thank you SO to the team and for your contributions and support.

Co-op Local Community Fund 2022

Co-op Members officially supported St Luke's Church Lunch Matters as part of the Local Community Fund during 2022 https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/61078 (When you buy selected Co-op products and services, 2p for every £1 spent goes into your membership account and they split the same between like-minded organisations and local causes.) We raised a fantastic sum of £3,925.58! Thank you for your support. We hope to re-register again in the next year or two.
